Rebecca Zink was born in Indianapolis and has spent the majority of her life in the central Indiana area. She earned her BFA in metalsmithing and visual communications from Ball State University in 2005. Recently she completed her MFA in metalsmithing from Southern Illinois University Carbondale where the program’s blacksmithing department strongly influenced her jewelry work through the application of industrial processes and materials alongside fine metals. While in graduate school, she received three grants from the SIU Windgate Charitable Foundation to assist in travel and project research, organized and managed the annual fundraising conference for her department, and curated two national student metalsmithing exhibitions. Upon her completion of graduate school in 2017, Rebecca was awarded the 2017-2018 Stutz Artist Association Residency. She currently lives and works in Indianapolis.
